Teacher Appreciation

Message for Our Teachers

As we start today the month-long celebration to pay tribute and recognize our teachers all over the world, may we all pray to God Almighty that our teachers be blessed with the abundance of good health, mental fortitude, strength of character, guided wisdom, and needed provisions.

Amidst the rapidly changing world and with the exponential use and exposure to Artificial Intelligence, more than ever, we need to put our reliance and faith to the capabilities, guidance, and inspiration from our teachers. Our teachers will never be remiss of the moral obligation they are clothed with if they feel the trust and confidence from us who send and entrust the children to their care… from us: the parents, the church, the government and the society in its totality.

I believe, …we shall believe…that our teachers are still our best chance to restore the eroding fibers in our society and in all of its communities.

Father’s Day Tribute

Father’s Day Message

It is not coincidence but by Divine Providence that we always celebrate the Father’s Day in the longest days of the year here in this part of the hemisphere. As we therefore give honor to all fathers in the world, let us not forget to pray for them … that they be continually blessed with good health, physical strength, mental fortitude, profound character and wellness of thoughts.

May we always be grateful as we commit to remember in all our days and in all our memories the goodness and the abundance of love from him … the strongest pillar … that one very person who has molded us into what and who we have become …

Advisory No. 089

ADVISORY 089: LET US KEEP THE FAITH

Be informed that for the past few days, there has been a barrage of attacks lodged at my leadership as your Schools Division Superintendent.

I am confident though that as mature and learned officials, teachers, non-teaching personnel, learners, parents, and stakeholders of this division, you can easily distinguish what is right or wrong over social media posts or publication. I do understand that either creates excitement or euphoria.

However, as we brace ourselves for the coming school year (2026-2027), I urge you to be inspired at what we all together established, accomplished, gained, and won over the past three years of blissful and kind engagement, collaboration, and cooperation. In the Schools Division of Ilocos Norte, what we do best is to inspire each other in order for us to serve well with all our minds, hearts, and spirits for the good and welfare of our learners, officials, teachers, and non-teaching personnel.

Let us therefore keep the faith that has been making our division great.

Christmas Message

Christmas

It was simple and devoid of luxury
Sans the inviting neon and led lights
Of pulsating and cascading hues
To imitate all the brightness
There is in this world …
Such was the first Christmas morn

It was cold and damp there
In that forlorn manger
Unendowed with all the richness and comfort
Of warm furniture and concrete houses
There was only an overwhelming peace …
Such was the first Christmas morn

It was desolate and barren
Save for scores of lambs
Few lucky shepherds and the three wise men
Braving the hostilities of the night :
All but one star to guide and warm them …
Such was the first Christmas morn

Amidst all these scarcities
Bleakness and the biting harshness
A child was born to give light
And warm the flesh and hearts within
To offer hope … To offer life ..:
Such was the first Christmas morn

Then all the angels of the heaven and of the earth
Did sing in all humility
Joyfully, tearfully, triumphantly
“Joy to the world and peace to all”
Such was the first Christmas morn …
Such should be all the Christmases.

Batingaw

Ang kampana sa may bayan
saksi ang simbahan
ng kanyang tapang at katatagan
sa peligro man o sa kagipitan

Ang isa naman sa may gulod
layuni’y mapagbuklod
mga taong tuwina’y takot
nang mapawi kanilang lungkot

Ngunit ang tunay na batingaw
hindi sa kampanaryo nakadungaw
kundi sa may dibdib gumagalaw
at doon umaalingawngaw

Pagtibok niya’y walang pagod
na siya namang ikinalulugod
ng minamahal niya’t iniirog
dahil ang mundo’y sa kanya umiinog

Tunog niya’y may malasakit
kaylan ma’y ‘di ipagkakait
himig niya, kanyang awit
pagtangi laging sambit

Marunong ding pumaram
ng pighati’t pagdaramdam;
ang idampi kanyang alab
sa mga api’t kapus palad

Ganyan ang tapat at ulirang puso
isang batingaw, yari sa ginto
kalembang niya’y sadyang totoo
dinggin mo, damhin mo ito!

Independence Day

127th Anniversary of Philippine Independence

As the nation celebrates and commemorates the 127th anniversary of our independence, our teachers and all DepEd Officials and personnel stand proud at what had been and what will be for the Philippines … for into their care and inspiration are the youth who bear and propagate the lasting legacy of Independence.

Our teachers have always been at the forefront in freeing our people from the stigma of ignorance and illiteracy even to the penultimate point of confining their own independence within the four walls of the classrooms … they are, too, the heroes and heroines and all their sacrifices and heroisms are not left unnoticed … especially by the Greatest Teacher and the grantor of all Freedom and Independence, the ALMIGHTY FATHER.

Ang Pasyon ng Kristo

Matapos ang huling hapunan
para sa mga disipulo’t kaibigan
isang halik ang naramdaman
ipinagkanulo Siya sa ganung paraan

Siya’y kinuyog ng mga pariseo,
silang mangangaral ng templo
at sila’y lahat nagkasundo
kamatayan, ihatol na totoo

Sa gobernador ng Palestino
kinaladkad ng mga relihiyoso
ang aba at inosenteng si Kristo
upang kanyang hatol mapagtanto

Iniharap si Hesukristo
at si Barabas sa mga tao
ng gobernador na tuliro
kung ang papalayain ay sino

Ang pinalaya’y si Barabas
kriminal, isang balasubas
at si Kristo na Tagapagligtas
kamataya’y ipadadanas

Si Kristo nga’y itinali’t dinakip
ng mga sundalong malulupit
sinalo bawat palo at hagupit
ng mga latigong walang kasing sakit

Muling iniharap ang lugmok ng Mesias
sa mga taong dila’y matatalas
ng maawa’t bawiin ng likas
desisyon nila’y baka mapalampas

Ngunit wala ni isa’y nahabag
isinigaw pa nga at lalong inilatag
‘Ipako sa krus’ sundin agad
kamataya’y dapat ipatupad!

Naghugas ng mga kamay
ang gobernador, si Pilatong lampay
pagpapasya’y tuluyang ibinigay
sa mga taong palalong tunay

Si Hesus, krus Siya’y ginawan
at buhatin Siya’y sinabihan
sa parang at lansangan
ng Herusalem, mahal niyang bayan

Bilang hari ng mga hudyo, Siya’y pinatungan
koronang tinik sa may ulunan
pangkutya, tanda ng pang uyam
kanila pang ipinagsisigawan

Pagkadapa ilang beses naranasan
sa bigat ng krus, kanyang pasan
pagmamalabis at mga kasalanan
ng lahat ng mga tao sa sanlibutan

Inakyat matarik na gulod ng Golgotha
hapo’t pagod hindi ininda
malugod na tinangap lahat ng parusa
maging mga taong sa kanya’y nangdura

Ngunit Ito sa kanya’y hindi dusa
kundi pagmamahal na dalisay at kusa
pang aako ito ng kasalanan, walang duda
ng ang lahat makabalik na sa Ama

Bundok ng Kalbaryo narating niya
doon ipapatayo krus na alay sa kanya
ipapako at siguradong ibibitin Siya
hanggang malagot Kanyang hininga.

The Secrets of Success

Today, success is unfolding upon you
But what you have accomplished is just a stride
To the many steps you are yet to make
At life’s continuous journey

At the many roads of life ahead
It is you alone who will make the choice
At what path you are to tread
And to what direction to take in every crossroad

Discount not that the life too has its darkness
Just like when the day is overwhelmed by the night
But failures are successes in disguise
To a man who picks lessons from them

Don’t fear then the evening and the dullness it brings
For the darker it becomes
The brighter the stars will shine in the heaven
That even the faintest of them illuminates

Don’t weep then at the coming of the night
For it is the time to rest the soul
And to nurse and heal the wounds
The warrior in you has taken in the day

Always count the Blessings you have
And never doubt the power of your conviction
Love a lot and live without hatred in your heart
In this way, success becomes you!

The Flower in the Berm

A little flower once sprouted
From a common weed
No one yet was there to adore it
But a tiny fragile ant
Which happened to creep along
The edge of that dusty road

Then a weary bee
Glancing back to see its pack
Noticed instead the tiny flower
Darted towards it, sipped it
Until it turned pale
Nevertheless, possessed with ecstasy

Soon a girly lass with giggles on her cheeks
Passed by the road
Neatly pruned the flower: tucked it in her braid
Then inserted it between her head and left ear
Left chanting … joyfully, innocently
While the weed was again to bloom a bud

The flower’s neighbors beyond the road
Concretely trapped near an empty huge house
And clinging on some driftwoods
Sans life … sans ants, sans bees:
Sans innocent eyes to adore them
Jealously looked with awe at the flower in the berm
Then endlessly pitied themselves

Christmas Message

The Birth of the True Light

Perchance, two thousand and fifty-seven years back
When the vastness of the night sky enveloped the whole of Bethlehem and yonder
As the crisp wind bit the already frozen and deadened flesh
For everyone to feel the inclemency and punishment of then afterlight

There laid a new-born in swaddling clothes, calmly and unperturbed
In a damp stable, deserted and desolate all but impoverished!
But worshipped and adored by herdsmen and their herds;
By the three wisemen and scores of angels descended from heaven

The silence of this night subdued the darkness of the earth
As the word became flesh and the flesh became light
All was calm, everything serene there was only joy and peace!
It was the birth of the Messiah, the Redeemer the True Light that leads to the Father

Happy Christmas Everyone

Auld Lang Syne (Days Gone By) – Graduation Poem

Recollect! Lest you forget
the memoirs you wrote
of friends, allies, and heroes
and of foes, rivals, and villains.

Reflect! Lest you abandon
the lessons that these folks taught
and how every learning made a difference
to the character you have become.

Reckon! Lest you lost faith
at the hands that molded you
and the love that guided those palms
in polishing your rawness and potency.

Revere! Lest you lost humility
at the defeats and victories
that inflicted you with pain and bliss
and kept your feet grounded.

Rejoice! Lest you lost the meaning
of the people and their legacies
and the experiences and wisdom they shared
in all of the days gone by.

Today, that vision has come true.

Let us all celebrate and honor Mrs. Lea Domingo of Luzong Elementary School, now officially one of the 14 Princess Maha Chakri Awardees for 2025, representing the Philippines on the international stage!

From a superintendentโ€™s proud words to a global recognition โ€” we salute you, Maโ€™am Lea!
