The Schools Division of Ilocos Norte’s mantra ‘Ragsak ken Rag-o mi ti Napudno nga Agserbi’ serves as the fuel that will help us achieve the ultimate destination which is the INheritED (inherit education). We are not changing anything. We are only changing our approach. A change of mind and a change of heart will create a spark. Because of our consciousness that education is the best ‘pamana’ that we can hand over to the next generation, we need to carry ‘joy in our hearts’ and ‘delight in our spirits’ as we fulfill this mission.
TourEd reflects Ilocos Norte as one of the most iconic tourist destinations not just in the country, but also in the whole world. TourEd envisions to prepare the Ilokano learners in various facets of life. As such, teachers’ skills must be identified in order for them to properly respond to the curriculum.
Relatively, with the strong conviction that schools are the best show windows of what the province has to offer, schools must always be clean without any obstructions. Learners need spaces for them to develop their 21st century skills.
Technically speaking, when the vowel ‘o’ is elicited from the word TOURed, the term TURED shall be formed. This is an Ilocano word which means courage or bravery, an innate Ilokano virtue. TURED means courage in mind and in character, giving the educators a MATATAG spirit to take calculated risks in order to provide learners the kind of education that they truly deserve. After all, exploring what you’ve got means showing what you have.
INheritEd is a reservoir of inspiration for the schools division in giving life to its goal of providing the clienteles ‘joy in their hearts’ and ‘delight in their spirits’. The first two letters in the word INheritEd stands for Ilocos Norte. Through the years, the value of education in transforming the lives of people is undeniable. Education, as the Ilocanos strongly believe in, is the greatest inheritance that they can leave for their children.
Education is the most powerful weapon to combat poverty and uplift the lives of the least, the lost, and the last. SDOIN cannot bequeath mediocre education to the youth. With its new breed of educational leaders and educators, the schools division shall continuously provide the most fitting kind of instruction which the learners need as they continue their quest for the fulfillment of their dreams and as they holistically develop themselves to be MATATAG in facing life’s adversities.
