The Schools Division of Ilocos Norte officially marked \u201cBinnulig: Brigada Eskwela 2026 Kickoff\u201d at Bimmanga Elementary School, Currimao, Ilocos Norte, bringing together the spirit of bayanihan, shared responsibility, and collective commitment for the welfare of every Ilokano learner.<\/p>\n

In his message, Schools Division Superintendent Atty. Donato D. Balderas Jr. emphasized that Brigada Eskwela should not be viewed as a one time activity held only at the beginning of the school year, but as a year round commitment to building safer, cleaner, more supportive, and more child friendly learning environments.<\/p>\n

He also highlighted the vital role of the community, parents, stakeholders, partner institutions, and the Local Government Unit in strengthening schools and ensuring that learners are given the support they need to thrive. More importantly, SDS Balderas underscored that parents remain the first teachers of every child. First, in instilling good manners and right conduct, and second, in helping children develop the ability to read, understand, and comprehend both Filipino and English.<\/p>\n

The event was graciously attended by the Honorable Mayor of Currimao, Edward \u201cBoyet\u201d Quilala, and Vice Mayor Judith \u201cJudz\u201d B. Quilala, whose presence further affirmed the strong partnership between the education sector and the local government.<\/p>\n

Also present were student leaders from different schools, whose participation reflected the meaningful role of learners in promoting volunteerism, leadership, and shared responsibility in building better schools and communities.<\/p>\n

Showing full support to the activity, the SGOD and CID family of SDO Ilocos Norte actively participated in the kickoff activities, reflecting the unity of the Division in its mission to provide a better, safer, and more nurturing learning environment for every Ilokano learner.<\/p>\n

As part of the activity, a tree planting initiative was participated in by the SDOIN CID and SGOD family, symbolizing growth, sustainability, and shared care for the environment. A reading program was also conducted with the participation of the Philippine Navy, strengthening the call to support literacy and love for reading among learners.<\/p>\n

Binnulig is more than preparation. It is a continuing promise, one built by schools, families, partners, and communities working hand in hand for every child, every classroom, and every future.<\/p>\n
